It was Spring Break for Easter and I had taken time off to be with David and suddenly it looked like Tuesday was going to be good weather for sailing. So, I changed the motor oil, gear case oil and lubed the motor shaft and removed the rain fly and was all set to go. I couldn't wait to try out my rig now that I had run the lines aft. Also, over winter I moved my depth finder sensor in the hopes that it would perform better and wanted to see how the move turned out.

Dad arrived at 6:30AM and it was full blown daylight - usually on these mornings when we are getting ready to sail it is still dark. Oh, well Daylight Savings is on the way. It just didn't seem right to be pulling out of the driveway in full daylight.

David seemed to having a good time, but still wanted to play his Game-Boy. In the morning when we left it was 48 degrees but later it warmed to the mid seventies but it was quite breezy all day. The forecast was for 8-12 knots.

Dad having a snack. I must have caught him at a bad time, because he was a having more fun that it looks like in this picture - honest!

What's up Dad?

When I hung the boom, somehow I twisted it. So I though, hmmm... I better take a picture of that! It only took a couple of minutes to get it straight later.

David reading? Better take a picture of that.

The new rigging worked great! I very happy with the way running the lines aft to the cockpit has worked out. I need to get colored lines and label the blocks but it worked great. Unfortunately the depth finder didn't work any better, I'm going to move it to the other side of the boat.
A very enjoyable but quick afternoon on the water.
