Thursday: Day 6 - Elizabeth City back to Portsmouth

When planning the trip I expected much warmer weather and expected to need to have some kind of ventilation in hot weather and still be protected from Dismal Swamp mosquitoes.  So, I made the above folding screen hatch door which worked great.

Farmers Bridge

The South Mills lock. This lock had about a 12 foot lift - pretty amazing.

We were still drying out stuff from the rain. We got pretty soaked.

Now we are at the Deep Creek Lock. Dad's camera has all the pictures in between.

Everyone takes in their lines as the boats rise.
